Operating season: March–January (closed Jan–Feb)

Located just west of Atlanta in Austell, Georgia, Six Flags Over Georgia combines intense roller coasters, kid-friendly rides, and a full Hurricane Harbor water park — all in a scenic setting surrounded by trees and Southern charm. It’s the second-ever Six Flags park and a longtime favorite for Georgia locals and Southeast thrill-seekers.

History & Background

Opening in 1967, Six Flags Over Georgia was the first park in the chain built after the original in Texas. Its themed areas once celebrated Georgia’s heritage and Southern culture, and while it’s evolved with modern branding and superhero zones, much of the classic feel remains. The park is home to several pioneering coaster designs and continues to innovate with seasonal events and new attractions.
