Parc Astérix

Parc Astérix Parc Astérix Parc Astérix Parc Astérix
Operating season: April–January (seasonal)

Just 35 kilometers north of Paris, Parc Astérix brings to life the irreverent humor and adventures of France’s most beloved comic heroes, Astérix and Obélix. Mixing history, mythology, and slapstick comedy, the park offers both record-breaking roller coasters and charming family attractions inspired by Gaulish tales.

Its bold personality and tongue-in-cheek theming make it a refreshing alternative to Disneyland Paris — energetic, witty, and distinctly French.

Parc Asterix

History & Background

Parc Astérix opened in 1989 under the vision of Albert Uderzo, one of the creators of the Astérix comic series. Built around the satirical charm of the original stories, the park embraced humor, clever design, and cultural parody.

Over the decades, it has expanded with new themed lands — from Egypt and Ancient Greece to the Roman Empire — while maintaining the trademark comic tone. The park is operated by Compagnie des Alpes, also known for running other major European attractions such as Futuroscope and Walibi parks.
